MEET THE TEAM.

Angelina Li

Executive Director

Angelina Li is a high school senior from Cherry Hill, New Jersey. She is both the founder and executive director of Felt Initiative. Through Felt Initiative, Angelina strives to create a platform in which native English-speaking students can get the chance to guide a foreign student —one-on-one— in mastering a new language along her team. Besides leading Felt Initiative, Angelina leads the volunteer team at her local Chinese school, founded a hospital-based volunteer club at her high school, plays volleyball for her school team, and takes part in a variety of interest-based clubs at her high school. When she’s not working on Felt Initiative, you can find her exploring new hotspots with friends and family, trying out savory dishes or traditional snacks like the self-proclaimed food connoisseur that she is, or enthralled in a new book.


Naznin Rima

Assistant & Branch Director

Naznin is from Cherry Hill, NJ and attends Cherry Hill High School East. Her goal for Felt Initiative is to help with whatever the organization needs, such as helping with meetings or coming up with new ideas, as well as to be a medium for communication between the tutors and the organization. At school, Naznin is involved in Key Club, East Literature Club, Spanish Honor Society, English Honor Society, Social Studies Honor Society, Science Honor Society, and Cum Laude Society. Naznin also enjoys reading, spending time with friends, and helping others with whatever they need.

Juliana Shin

Lead Lesson Coordinator

Juliana Shin is a student at Cherry Hill High School East. She is the lead lesson coordinator in Felt Initiative and her goal is that the students will grow in their reading, writing, hearing, and speaking skills through the lessons she makes. Juliana is involved in Eastside Art, UNICEF Unite, Writing Club, and is also a leader in the Korean Culture Club. Her hobbies are painting, cleaning, taking walks with her dog, babysitting, and community service.

Betty Lam

Lead Branch Director

Betty is from Cherry Hill, NJ, and currently attends Cherry Hill High School East. At her school, she is involved in Key Club and Hospital Support Club. In Felt Initiative, she is a Vietnam Branch Director, and hopes to connect more foreign students to our program. A fun fact about herself is that she loves to play lacrosse and travel with her family.

Matthew Prado

Outreach Lead

Matthew is a student hailing from the SF Bay Area. As the Outreach Lead, he is responsible for the website's maintenance among other things. Outside of Felt, Matthew juggles a multitude of positions from diverse fields. In his free time, Matthew loves playing games, working out, and learning for fun!

Brianna Swartz

Lead Trainer

Brianna Swartz attends Cherry Hill High School East in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. She is the head of the trainee team and her goal is to prepare the tutors in Felt Initiative to the best of her abilities. Aside from Felt Initiative, she is on the board of Amnesty International, and a member of CHE Hospital Support Club and Interact Club. Her favorite thing to do is to spend time with her three cats and bunny.

Sophia Han

Lesson Coordinator

Sophia attends Valley Christian High School in San Jose, CA. As a lesson coordinator, Sophia wants to develop and coordinate lessons in a way that allows all students, regardless of experience, to enjoy learning English. Sophia is involved in her high school cheerleading team, in addition to competing in horse riding shows, playing the violin, and participating in her schools mock-trial team. In her free time, Sophia enjoys reading classic novels, baking desserts, and writing poetry.

Joanna Shin

Branch Director

Joanna lives in Voorhees, New Jersey and attends Eastern Regional High School. Her role in Felt Initiative is a Branch Director, and she hopes to recruit as many students and tutors possible. Joanna is a part of Student Alliance, which is a club that helps guide incoming freshman. Some things that she likes to do is to play volleyball and spend time with her friends and family.

Emma Kim

Lesson Coordinator

Emma Kim attends Highland High School in Blackwood, New Jersey. As a lesson coordinator, Emma wants to develop and coordinate lessons successfully. Her involvement in various activities includes: Recording Secretary for her Class of 2024, volunteer for KAAGP and KSSNJ, a part of Korean drums, pep band, etc. She likes to play games, talk with friends, and hang out with friends during her spare time.

Christina Song

Lesson Coordinator

Christina Song currently attends Cherry Hill East High School in Cherry Hill, NJ. As a lesson coordinator, she simplifies the learning process for the tutor and the student by making easy-to-understand lessons. The current activities she’s involved in include: praise team, Korean dance, church volunteering, KAAGP & KSSNJ volunteering, tutoring, orchestra, and more! In her free time, she likes to play games, call friends, or scroll through social media.

Eva Zheng

Moderator

Eva is making FELT’s community safe and comfortable through conversation and offering assistance. In school, she's part of the Youth Conservation Crew, NHS Secretary, Leader of Eco Club education subcommittee, and Tutor ESL. For fun, she loves art and music. She's been playing violin for nearly a decade and piano for 4 years.

Nicole Jacob

Lesson Coordinator

Nicole Jacob is a junior at Bergen County Academies in New Jersey. She likes to bake, practice Tae Kwon Do, hang out with friends, and play the clarinet. Some of the activities she is apart of in school are DECA, Yearbook, varsity track, and her school’s newspaper. While being a lesson coordinator, she hopes to aid tutors as much as possible, and make fun and informative lessons.
